In this interview, Dr Kevin Lee shared with Lianhe Wanbao and Shin Min on the growing trend of younger people suffering from arthritis in the hip and knee.
Statistics showed that patients developing arthritis used to be at the age of 60 years old and above, whereby recent years the age group has been getting younger from the range of 45 years old to 60 years old. This growth could be attributed to the active lifestyle that people are engaged in nowadays.
Dr Kevin Lee also mentioned that there is an increase from 15% to 20% who undergo the joint replacement surgery and a surge of 50% in patients whom are 60 years old and below.
